Summary
We are seeking dedicated Janitorial staff to join our maintenance team at Tessy. Located in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility for employees, visitors, and production operations.
Available shifts starting at $20.50/hour shift differentials:
- 12-Hour Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
- 12-Hour Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- 2nd shift Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:00pm
- 12-Hour Night , and 2nd Shift include a 10% shift differential
- 12-Hour Day includes a $0.50 shift differential
- Locations in Elbridge & Auburn, NY
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain production areas, offices, break rooms, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors, surfaces, and equipment as assigned.
- Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables, and other waste materials following established procedures.
- Restock restroom and facility supplies such as paper products, soap, and cleaning materials.
- Monitor facility cleanliness and promptly address spills, safety hazards, or housekeeping concerns.
- Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively.
- Follow all safety guidelines, cleaning procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and supply usage as required.
- Assist with special cleaning projects and support facility needs during audits, inspections, and events.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
Requirements
- Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or industrial cleaning experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to follow work instructions and respond to management direction.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, cleaning instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to safely use and handle cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.
- Must apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Reliable attendance and a positive attitude.
