Mandarin Summer Camp Assistant Teacher

Tessa International school is a thriving international school located in Hoboken, New Jersey, just one subway stop from Manhattan, New York. We currently enroll students from early childhood to the 3rd Grade, with plans to expand to the 5th grade in the coming years. Our preschool section is accredited by the French Ministry of National Education, and we are in the process of seeking accreditation for the elementary levels. Additionally, we are currently accredited by the International Baccalaureate organization.

Tessa “Fun, Friends, and Discoveries” Summer Camps are thoroughly enjoyable language immersion programs in three languages – Spanish, French or Mandarin!

Children explore a range of fun multi-sensory, highly interactive activities with their teacher in the target language, from outdoor fun, to indoor creative play, singing, games, music and movement. Children have fun while learning a language and being exposed to a different culture.

Tessa International School is looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Summer Camp Mandarin assistant Teacher to join Team Tessa!

The Summer Camp Mandarin assistant will be responsible for collaborating with and supporting your class's Lead Teacher teaching to students ranging from ages 2 to 10 years old, five days a week from 8:00AM to 4:00PM.

Tessa Summer Camp is running for 9 weeks, Monday through Friday, starting on June 29th until August 28th.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists with classroom and behavior management
• Keeps the classroom and the school clean, tidy, and presentable at all times
• Assists Lead Teacher in a range of tasks as needed
• Assists with pastoral care
• Leads outdoor play and any field trips
• May perform diaper changing, feeding and soothing of very young children depending on the class
• Assists in other duties as assigned by leadership

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4 pm .

Qualifications:

• Must be a Mandarin native speaker or fully bilingual
• Permission to work legally in the USA
• Love of young children
• Caring, empathetic, kind
• Experience with young children preferred
• Positive and mature personality
• Assistant teaching or teaching experience preferred
