Roving Maintenance Technician

Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join one of our clients team at (3) of their properties in Brooklyn Center (55429) and New Hope (55428) The ideal candidate will have 2 years’ experience in residential maintenance, have experience with unit turns, have knowledge of basic maintenance, be self-motivated, be able to organize multiple tasks throughout the day and is self-sufficient. This role is contract to hire (90 days before conversion).

This role will be working with (3) communities and 250 units.

Salary: $26-$28/hour DOQ.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8AM – 5PM (no on-call).

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide a variety of skilled building maintenance including repairs to sinks, windows, floors, and other parts of the building.
• Maintains the grounds as assigned which may include trash pick-up, shoveling, and sweeping curb/dumpster area, maintaining landscape beds and other areas.
• Preparation of vacant units for occupancy which may include cleaning responsibilities.
• Install, repair (including soldering) and maintain various plumbing; heating and air conditioning fixtures; perform metal fabrication and welding.
• Installation and repair of major and minor appliances (e.g. washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwashers, etc.).
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues, diagnose problems, replace and/or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments to ensure issues are resolved.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs as needed.
• Complete minor work orders such as snake toilets/drains, repair/replace leaking faucets, remove/replace caulking, replace different components of toilets, adjust/replace door closures, and replace locks, deadbolts, and passage locks.
• Always demonstrate courteous and efficient customer service.

Qualifications and Experience:

• At least 2 years’ experience in residential/multi-family maintenance – preventative, work orders and unit flip experience is required.
• Must possess the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Maintain professional environment and appearance.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation as this role will be roving to multiple properties.
• Be able to pass a background check before employment.
