Maintenance Technician

Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join one of our client’s team at (1) of their properties in Oakdale, MN (55128) The ideal candidate will have 2 years’ experience in residential maintenance, have experience with unit turns, have knowledge of basic maintenance, be self-motivated, be able to organize multiple tasks throughout the day and is self-sufficient. Appliance troubleshooting and repair is required (stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer). This position will be the only Maintenance Technician onsite, so dependability and reliability is required. This role is contract and expected to last 2-4 weeks in length but could become permanent for the right candidate.

This role will be working with (1) community with 175 affordable housing units.

Salary: $28-$30/hour DOQ.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 830am - 5pm.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

• Provide a variety of skilled building maintenance including repairs to sinks, windows, floors, and other parts of the building.
• Maintains the grounds as assigned which may include trash pick-up, shoveling, and sweeping curb/dumpster area, maintaining landscape beds and other areas.
• Preparation of vacant units for occupancy which may include cleaning responsibilities.
• Installation and repair of major and minor appliances (e.g. washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwashers, etc.).
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues, diagnose problems, replace and/or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments to ensure issues are resolved.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs as needed.
• Complete minor work orders such as snake toilets/drains, repair/replace leaking faucets, remove/replace caulking, replace different components of toilets, adjust/replace door closures, and replace locks, deadbolts, and passage locks.
• Always demonstrate courteous and efficient customer service.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 2 years’ experience in residential maintenance – unit turns, work orders and preventative maintenance.
• Appliance troubleshooting and repair is required (stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer).
• Punctual and reliable – this is a single technician site.
• Be able to pass a background check before employment.
