The Bilingual/English as a Second Language (ESL) Paraprofessional, will provide language interpretation services, including, but not limited to: translation of documents; and interpretation for parent meetings, phone calls, and supplemental classroom instruction to students and for staff as needed throughout the school day.

- Wage: $17.50/Hour; Pay Dates: 10th and 25th each month

The Bilingual Paraprofessional Will
- Translate enrollment documents, transcripts, and other information upon request. Acts as a foreign language translator between staff, students and parents.
- Interpret for parent meetings and phone calls upon request. Must be able to meet and interact with employees and parents/guardians in routine situations, which require tact, discretion, and courtesy
- Accompany staff on home visits upon request.
- Assist newly arrived EL families with the registration process.
- Provide language support in assigned classrooms under the guidance of an ESL/Bilingual Teacher.
- Assist with data collection for state and federal reports.
- Direct families to appropriate community resources and/or agencies when necessary.
- Assist with the supervision of students both before and after school as well as during emergency drills, assemblies, and between classes.
- Respect confidentiality of all students' records and meetings. Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
- Supervise a group of students in the temporary absence of the certified teacher.
- Attend all required training meetings and workshops.
- Report potential problems, unusual events, or work irregularities to appropriate administrative or supervisory personnel.
- Report absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures.
- Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal regulations.
- Work well with all supervisors and other members of the team.
- Perform special assignments and other duties as assigned or required by the supervisor or administrator.

Salary : $18
