Technical Trainer

What To Expect
Tesla is looking for an individual experienced with training personnel on manufacturing best practices to contribute to the Training team at Gigafactory New York. As a Technical Training Instructor, you will build a world-class manufacturing training program from the ground up. You will leverage your experience in production operations, adult learning principles, and process optimization to support operational excellence. You must have outstanding communication, presentation, and organizational skills while demonstrating a positive, motivational, and professional appearance. The Technical Training Instructor will take responsibility for developing training campaigns to optimize productivity and promote employee retention through continuous development. Instructors will provide support to students and fellow staff members, work in a lab setting providing hands-on instruction with safety in mind, keep accurate records of student achievement, and have an ability to maintain discipline in a classroom setting. In this role you will work with departments such as Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Production to set the standard for excellence across the organization.

What You'll Do

Develop basic and advanced technical content on a wide variety of material for electrical, mechanical, chemical, and control systems 

Deliver technical training courses in classroom and field settings using various presentation formats including Instructor Led, Facilitative group learning, active hands-on learning, and functional assessments

Provide comprehensive tracking of each Student’s completed and required training in Tesla specific Learning Management software systems

Provide on-shift training support for production associates and production line leadership, as required. 

Support the Company’s mission, vision, values, and goals in performance of daily activities

What You'll Bring

Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize in a highly dynamic production environment

Open collaborative style: ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision or direction

Innovative, flexible, and positive teaching style combined with understanding the needs of students from diverse backgrounds

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including solid interpersonal skills. Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook

Experience providing on-the-job training with manufacturing personnel. Familiarity with Objective based training theory, ADDIE process and functional assessment settings

Familiarity or expertise with Learning Management Systems. Forklift driving experience is a plus

Maintain and perform top level professional integrity and appearance as a Training Professional

Expected Compensation

Associate Technical Training Instructor - $61,200 - $91,800/annual salary

Technical Training Instructor - $72,000 - $108,000/annual salary

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
