What You'll Do
Lead the procurement of construction materials, including pre-qualifying suppliers by assessing their commercial, technical, and delivery capabilities in a high-volume environment Identify and onboard new suppliers, negotiating Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and ensuring alignment with Tesla's rapid deployment timelines Execute the RFx (Request for Information/Proposal/Quote) process efficiently to contract project scopes on schedule Negotiate final contract awards, provide recommendations to stakeholders, and manage contract execution and ongoing relationships Operate effectively in ambiguous scopes and schedules, making informed decisions with incomplete information while maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day supplier escalations, ensuring timely resolution under tight timelines and high stakes Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) processes, optimizing material sourcing for efficiency and cost-effectiveness Drive continuous improvement in procurement strategies, drawing on experience in fast-paced, high-volume operations to motivate teams toward rapid learning and execution
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience considered At least 5 years of experience in supply chain management or procurement, preferably within the construction or engineering fields Proven track record in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with examples of strong work ethic, self-starting initiative, and motivation to learn and adapt quickly Knowledge of construction EPC processes; experience working with general contractors, owners' representatives, or design engineering firms is a strong plus Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, analytical, and judgment skills Solid understanding of basic contract law, construction contract standards, and procurement best practices Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects, collaborating with diverse stakeholders while improvising and problem-solving in real-time
