Shipping & Receiving Associate

What To Expect
At Tesla Elgin, we design, build and service highly automated, high-volume manufacturing machinery that will help Tesla accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Our location is currently looking for a highly motivated, “hands-on” individual Shipping and Receiving Associate. The role includes processing of incoming parts and maintaining inventory control using the company ERP system and will be essential in assisting with purchasing of a variety of commercial components (for special projects. sales orders, inventory, shop). The role will be responsible for driving to deliver and pick up from various vendors and some maintenance throughout our machine shop and facility.

We have one position available on the first shift, Monday – Friday; 08:00AM – 04:30PM.

What You'll Do

Pick/pull/pack parts needed for Production and Engineering areas. Perform cycle counts or audits as needed

Work closely with Material Planning, Inventory Control, Engineering, and Quality Control teams. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of assigned tasks. Support Warehouse Team best practices at all times

Identify discrepant materials/components both in writing and verbally to supervisor

Complete tasks as directed by warehouse schedules and within standard times. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Ability to multi-task and coordinate tasks across multiple departments

Ability to follow a required specific sequence of steps in a process repetitively for an extended period of time

Demonstrated ability to perform standardized work process and defined work instructions. Evaluates the shipping processes and equipment to look for continuous improvement opportunities

What You'll Bring

Must be reliable, have good initiative, be committed, and be quality focused

Ability to lift 30-50 lbs. on a daily basis

Previous experiience driving a forklift preferred

Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions and standard operating procedures

Must have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail

Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
