What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery and Planning Lead, PDC - Lathrop (Murphy 2) position at Tesla?
The Delivery & Planning Lead will report to a Distribution Manager or and work alongside the North American Delivery & Planning team. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in leading team members and takes pride in their hands-on work.
Monitor Distribution Center operations in real time under the guidance of the General Manager and North American Operations Manage while acting as an early alert system when production plans are not achieving hourly expectations. · Lead for regularly updating glass wall metrics and data for the site they are responsible. · Ensure the safety and productivity of team members and escalate any issues in a timely manner. · As an operations subject matter expert identify areas of weakness in the Distribution Center and proactively call out areas of non-compliance to standard operating procedures. · Ensure production resources (materials, equipment and workforce) are available and allocated as planned as agreed upon between site leaders and engineering teams. · Review daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly plans in advance and collaborate with leadership to improve them as time progresses. · Responsible for communicating trends related under and over performers to leadership to ensure appropriate coaching and recognition. · Influence constant improvement efforts by identifying areas of opportunity through the use of data. · Drive throughput improvement to ensure consistent workflow by reducing gap time, reducing downtime, validating staffing plans and ensuring plans are deviated from. · Support continuous improvement goals in safety, people, quality, delivery and cost by evaluating team, processes, and equipment. · Ensure staffing and equipment needs are planned in advance as to not allow operations to fall short of daily or long term goals. · Escalate equipment and process failures to the appropriate support groups and leaders while maintaining composure in stressful situations. · Recommend systems and dashboard enhancement to quicker identify issues. · Responsible for tracking the following metrics: Target vs. Actual, Strong Starts/Finishes, Cycle Time, Units per Hour (UPH), Aging Orders, Staffing. · Communicate detailed and clear information in pass down to site and senior leadership.
Shift flexible and prepared to work long hours and weekends. · Driven problem solver with a “go see” attitude to issue resolution. · Experience working in a Distribution Warehouse environment. · Advanced understanding of the following systems SWIFT, Warp Drive, Tableau, SQL. · Ability to understand and develop written work instructions and maintain a safe working environment. · Demonstrated organizational skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail. · Strong interpersonal and communication skills. · Superior ability to drive plans to completion without allowing outside influences to impact production. · Proven success in completing tasks and meeting goals. · Must be team-oriented and have an infinitely positive attitude. · Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
