What to Expect
Tesla isseekinga highly motivated TestEngineer to contribute to the continuous improvement of Manufacturing Test Equipmentfor our Energy Remanufacturing team. Primarily,youwill aid in the improvement, optimization, and maintenance of test equipment for the Supercharging, Industrial,and Residential Energy lines thatoperatewithin our org. Additional responsibilities include supporting test equipment debugging tasks, continuous improvement of legacy test equipment and supporting hand over of new test equipment from the manufacturing development team. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative environment where any ideas for improvement,developmentand enhancement will be welcomed.

What You'll Do
  • MaintainLabVIEW, Python,TestStand, and Golang production test software
  • Generate userinterfaces (GUI's) as well as troubleshooting tools to improve thediagnostic capability of existing production test software
  • Optimizeautomated processes to minimize cycle time and maximize uptime
  • Validate using data-driven statistical approaches (such as Gage R&R,andCpk)
  • Design and industrial electrical control panels which are NFPA79/NEC/UL508Acompliant, and create electrical,pneumaticand fluid schematics
  • Develop test according to test procedures and specificationsfor both new make andRemanufactured components
  • Provideon-site support for test equipment deployment
  • Createtroubleshooting and maintenance documents for testers
  • Work with a team of Technicians toacquirenew instruments and build fixtures to aidin verifying factory test equipment isoperatingcorrectly

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of hands-on experience as a Manufacturing Test Software Engineer
  • Proficient in test data analysis and automation using tools such as JMP, C/C , and Perl/Python in both Windows and Linux environments
  • Fluent in Golang, Python, and JavaScript, with a strong grasp of modern software development practices
  • Experienced with communication protocols including CAN,EtherCAT, and Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS)
  • Skilled in working with Linux-based systems, Docker containers, and version control tools such as Git, GitHub, or SVN
  • Familiar with data infrastructure and visualization platforms such as Telegraf, Kafka, and Grafana
  • Experienced in commissioning test equipment andidentifyingroot causes across tester and product failures
  • Knowledgeable in debugging and working with communication protocols including CAN, Ethernet, and GPIB
