What to Expect

Tesla is looking for an individual with experience training manufacturing personnel advanced skills and knowledge to contribute to the Cell Manufacturing team at Gigafactory Texas. As a Technical Training Instructor, you will take part in building a world-class manufacturing training program from the ground up. You will leverage your subject matter expertise in technical operations such as maintenance, quality, engineering, and leadership to support a growing manufacturing facility. Your expertise in adult learning principles, content development, and facilitation will ensure cell manufacturing personnel receive and synthesize the knowledge and skills required to excel in their own position at Tesla. Applicants will have a passion for people development, building a world of sustainable abundance, and continuous improvement. You must have outstanding communication, facilitation, and prioritization skills while maintaining a professional appearance. You will develop technical training processes and material focusing on subjects such as maintenance, quality, heavy equipment, engineering, and leadership. You will conduct instructor-led training to audiences of varying skill level and specialization. Tesla expects a strong ability to identify opportunity to add value to the organization, develop and propose projects or programs to seize that opportunity, and execute efficiently and effectively. The Technical Training team also provides guidance and mentorship for the Training Coordinator team which focuses on deploying compliance, certification, and onboarding requirements. You will work in various environments such as an office, classroom, lab, production floor, and cleanroom.


What You'll Do
  • Training Facilitation:Deliver training and certification programs via various methods, including classroom, hands-on, virtual, demos, and coaching.Design and develop training materials that cater to different learning styles and needs.Facilitate training sessions that promote engagement, interaction, and knowledge retention
  • Knowledge Pursuit:Pursue knowledge andexpertisein relevant technical areas through communication with experts, engineers, leaders, and employees.Stayup to datewith industry trends, technologies, and best practices.Apply knowledge to improve training programs and materials
  • Upskilling and Communication:Continuously upskill and reskill tomaintainexpertisein technical areas.Pursue certifications andparticipatein field work to stay current with industry developments.Evaluate and provide feedback on training programs to drive improvement and alignment with business objectives
  • Training Standards:Develop andmaintaintraining standards, guidelines, and resources that align with company policies and procedures. Provide support to learners, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.May collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and review training materials
  • Continuous Improvement:Gatherand provide feedback on training effectiveness to the instructional design team for content enhancements and improvements.Providefeedback for content improvements andmaintainexpertisethrough upskilling and communication
  • Leadership Resources:May perform field activities and communications for training standards, required courses, and leadership resources tomaintaincurrency and professional representation

What You'll Bring
  • Professional Training Experience: 3 plus years of experience teaching specialized/technical content in professional settings, with subject matter expertise in maintenance, quality, heavy equipment, engineering, and/or leadership
  • Project and Program Management: Demonstrated experience managing projects or programs in a professional capacity, with ability to organize and prioritize in highly dynamic production environments
  • Teaching Style and Collaboration: Innovative, flexible, and positive teaching approach combined with open collaborative style; ability to work both autonomously and in team environments with minimal supervision, while understanding diverse student backgrounds
  • Communication and Language Proficiency: Command of English language (written and verbal); ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, business documents, and regulations; exceptional ability to present information and respond to questions from technicians, engineers, and managers
  • Technical Software Proficiency: Advanced command of Microsoft suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook) and project management software (Jira, Microsoft Project)
  • Preferred Industrial and Technical Certifications: Experience in manufacturing/industrial environments and Powered Industrial Vehicle certifications (sit-down forklift, stand-up forklift, ride-on/walk-behind electric pallet jacks, etc.)
  • Preferred Educational and Design Credentials: Formal education or certifications in Education, instructional design, or related field; experience with instructional design, learning management system administration/engineering, and graphic design
