Tesla is looking for a Technical Program Manager, Infrastructure Programs for Large Capex Projects to oversee the planning and implementation of intricate, high-stakes infrastructure and facility initiatives. You will have a crucial part in defining the future physical layout of Tesla's operations, collaborating closely with teams in Supply Chain, Engineering, R&D, Construction, Finance, and Senior Executives to ensure that facility expansion aligns with advancing process technologies and overall business objectives.
What You'll Do
- Create and oversee comprehensive project timelines, including key milestones, critical path monitoring, budget projections, and risk assessments
- Direct cross-team coordination and execution of significant capital projects, spanning from site assessments and facility planning to equipment setup and activation
- Engage with top executives to rank projects, update on advancements, and verify alignment with corporate goals and return-on-investment metrics
- Serve as a primary strategic consultant in matching long-term investments in capital projects with Tesla's technology plans and expansion targets
- Manage program oversight, including phase-gate evaluations, backup planning, and handling changes throughout all stages
- Work alongside R&D and engineering groups to grasp technology development schedules and convert them into essential infrastructure requirements
- Guarantee adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across the entire duration of capital projects
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
- At least 6 years of experience managing major capital projects in manufacturing, chemical, or advanced industrial fields, including experience with Site-Selection and scaling-up novel manufacturing processes
- Solid business insight, with skills in capital planning, financial analysis, and decisions on technology investments
- Strong abilities in communication and delivering presentations to executives
- Demonstrated expertise in incorporating new technologies into new or existing infrastructure setups
- Familiarity with project management software like MS Project, Jira, or Primavera
- Willingness to travel as required, typically under 20%
