As a Senior Reliability TestEngineer focusing on high voltage power electronics systems, you will play a key role in designing reliability into Tesla Energy's high voltage energy conversion systems.This role follows the reliability life cycle of the product from concept to design, developmenttesting/analysis, manufacturing, and field operation to design-in confirm and grow exceptional reliability at every stage. You will investigate failures through physical testing of residential and industrial energy systems (DCDC, DCAC power converters) to accurately predict the system's robustness and optimize product reliability while acceleratingTesla's next-gen products'time to market.
What You'll Do
- Perform reliability testing for Industrial and Residential energy power converters
- Determinecomponent/system level test solutions thatoptimizefor productreliability anddurability, DFMEA-based risk mitigations, test team resources, and programschedules
- Executeindependently Tesla energy product,subsystem,andcomponent-level reliability power cycling tests of switching converters such as new semiconductor technologies, integrated circuits, capacitors, transformers, etc.
- Conduct test data analysis, clearly communicate test results, and collaborate with design and reliability engineers to resolve issues detected in testing
- Design and implement next generation hardware test systems and setups tofacilitatereliable design characterization and accelerated lifetesting
- Procure and develop required test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems to enhance creative component and product level reliabilitytesting
- Facilitate failure analysis to understand the root cause and drive resolution for failures originating in testing
- Continuouslydrive design risk burndown to ensureproduct design isreliableand durable
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with design, reliability, and manufacturing engineers to suggest design and/or process improvements and address reliabilityand durabilityissues based on understanding of failure root causes
- Comply withsafety policies and regulations
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- 3-10years of hands-on experience in power electronics hardware design, design validation, hardware testing, mechanical system reliability, and durability testing
- Knowledge of programming in scripting languages for test automation and data analysis/post-processing
- Experience specifying sensors for test instrumentation andutilizingdata acquisition systems
- Experience pro-actively owning and deliveringtest engineering projectswithin accelerated validation timelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication as well as organization and documentation skills
- Experience working safely with high voltageequipment
- Proven ability to develop reliability and durability test setups, including environmental, mechanical, and electrical stress testing, highlypreferred
- Preferred to have experience of common automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet)

Expected Compensation
$91,600 - $195,600/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
