What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Engineer, Connectivity, Optimus position at Tesla Motors, Inc.?
What You'll Do
Write, debug, and maintain robust C/C software for the Optimus software stack; this may include components such as high-frame rate camera and vision stacks, GPU kernels, low-memory footprint libraries, high-performance inter-process communication buffers, telemetry and logging code, or evaluation/replay software improvements
Develop and maintain networking stacks and protocols including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and related foundational connectivity components
Optimize hardware resource usage and leverage custom hardware components where appropriate
Contribute to test automation frameworks to validate existing and new connectivity features
Advocate for best coding practices, and build tools to help engineers write better, more performant code (for instance, performance/memory tracking)
Generalize software frameworks as necessary while balancing abstraction with performance considerations
What You'll Bring
Experience programming in C/C , including modern C standards (C 14/17/20)
Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, etc.
Experience with low-level systems software, OS concepts, and system performance optimization
Proficient developing software on a Linux host, with experience in cross-compilation and embedded Linux targets a plus
Experience or familiarity with multithreading, system software (POSIX), SIMD, or GPU programming (CUDA/OpenCL) is a plus
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical software engineering experience

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
