What You'll Do
Perform reliability testingforCharging& Residential energyproducts
Determinecomponent/system level test solutions thatoptimizeproductreliability anddurability,PFMEA-based risk mitigations, test team resources, and programschedules
Executeindependently Tesla energy product,subsystems(including switching converters,enclosures,busbars/conductorsand actuators)
Conduct test data analysis,andclearly communicate test results, and collaborate with design and reliability engineers to resolve issues detected in testing
Procure and develop required test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems to enhance creativecomponentand product level reliabilitytesting
Facilitatetestfailureroot causeanalysis to understand the root cause and drive resolution for failures originating in testing
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with design, reliability, and manufacturing engineers to suggest design and/or process improvements and address reliabilityanddurabilityissues based on understanding of failure root causes
Continuouslydriveproductrisk burndown to ensureproduct design isreliableand durableduring reliability tests
Capability and willingness to train technicians/interns tooperateand troubleshoot test systems tooptimizethe workload
Comply withsafety policies and regulations
What You'll Bring
Degree in Electrical Engineering orMechanicalEngineering, or equivalent experience
Minimum 3years of hands-on experience in power electronics hardware design, design validation, hardware testing, mechanical system reliability, and durability testing
Knowledge of programming in scripting languages for test automation and data analysis/post-processing(Pythonpreferred)
Experience specifying sensors for test instrumentation andutilizingdata acquisitionsystems, andusing basic hand and power tools
Experience working safely with high voltage equipment (up to 1kV)
Experiencepro-activelyowning and deliveringtest engineering projectswithin accelerated validation timelines
Excellent written and verbal communication as well as organization and documentation skills

- Associate Test Engineer - $82,440 - $123,660/annual salary
- Test Engineer - $98,640 - $147,960/annual salary
- Sr Test Engineer - $117,360 - $176,040/annual salary
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
