What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Analyst, Latin America position at Tesla Motors, Inc.?
This role will be responsible for all aspects of processing LATAM managed payrolls. They will report to the Senior Payroll Manager. This individual will be responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of multiple LATAM payrolls supporting 500 employees. Additional responsibilities will include maintaining and updating team procedures, providing training, and new market entry. The candidate must be a subject matter expert in global payroll processing. There is an expectation that the analyst will make critical and timely decisions to ensure payroll is compliant and employee concerns prioritized. Good leadership traits are required and heavily utilized in this role.
What You'll Do
- Confirm accurate bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for Mexico and LATAM markets for salaried and hourly employees
- Work with Management to ensure SOX and other key controls are completed
- Support the Payroll Tax Accounting Team to ensure that the month and year-end financial close data is accurate and complete
- Partner with internal and external partners to ensure 100% compliance in each country
- Partners with HR, Legal, and Tax partners to research country-specific pay rules and execute them in new markets
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures and propose appropriate solutions; Interpret payroll policies and procedures to company employees at all levels
- Develop, maintain, and enhance payroll procedures through automation
What You'll Bring
- Relevant finance-related bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) Level Knowledge or international equivalent
- Five plus years of payroll processing experience in global markets, LATAM preferred
- Demonstrated problem-solving and issue resolution required
- Strong Excel skills and ERP system knowledge required
- Experienced working in a high volume, multi-task work environment
- Strong organizational and planning skills, able to work reliably and efficiently under demanding deadlines, and with minimal supervision
