We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Freight and Duties Cost Accountant with 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment to join our Cost Accounting Team. The ideal candidate willbe responsible formanaging all cost functions related to freight and duties, including cost calculation, analysis, standard cost setup, variance monitoring, financial reporting, and ensuringaccurateaccounting for freight, transportation, customs duties, tariffs, and related liabilities. You will supportmanufacturing operations by drivinglogisticscost accuracy, process improvements, and providing insights to leadership.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support all freight anddutiescost calculations, including analysis of transportation, shipping,logistics, customs duties, tariffs, import/export fees, and related expenses
- Responsible for setting up andmaintainingstandard costs for freightand duties
- Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including freight- and duty-related journal entries, accruals,accountreconciliationsand variances for inbound/outboundlogistics
- Work closely with operational teams (logistics, supply chain, receiving, customs/trade compliance, inventory control, andIT) toaddress cost-related issues, enhanceaccuracyand drive process improvements
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls, US GAAP, and relevant accounting principles; support internal and external audits
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience in Cost Accounting, preferably in a large manufacturing environment, with proven experience in freight,logistics, duties/tariffs,inventory/manufacturing cost analysis.
- Experience leading system improvement projects and driving operational changes to enhance cost accuracy
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data;proficiencyin financial analysis, variance analysis, and data extraction
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel,strong SQL skills preferred
- Ability to multi-task and drive actions to completion under strict deadlines
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX controls
