Tesla is looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to contribute to the development of structural joining, bonding and forming processes for our cutting-edge battery products. This position will drive technological advancement and the industrialization of novel manufacturing approaches for our cutting-edge Battery products while leading a high-performing team. Battery development is at the heart of our company, and this is an exciting opportunity to work directly on the central challenges with electric vehicles - battery cost and performance. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work with a highly motivated team on extremely challenging projects.
What You'll Do
- Lead a Manufacturing Engineering team specializing in structural process and technology development, overseeing team delivery and continuous domain support
- Evaluate candidate structural manufacturing strategies for new battery products
- Perform proof-of-concept to green light novel methods, technologies, and suppliers
- Guide cross-functional selection of optimal process strategies and product interface definitions
- Rigorous process and equipment development to achieve capability, performance, and quality targets
- Process optimization and validation of each application through initial builds. Support release to production
- Establish standards and support downstream factory process launch and improvement projects
What You'll Bring
- 7 years ofengineering or equivalent experience
- Progressive personnel leadership experience in a technical discipline
- Demonstrated expertise in the data-driven development and implementation of high-volume structural manufacturing methods including product interfaces, materials, processes, and equipment (at least one, multiple preferred): adhesives, potting, sealants, form-in-place gaskets, curing, fastening, riveting, clinching, pressing, hemming, welding, molding, casting, other
- Simulation (CFD, Finite Elements) experience a plus
- Degree in Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or equivalent experience

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
