As a Field Engineer you will be playing a critical role in the construction of Tesla's first lithium refinery plant near Corpus Christi, TX. You will be involved in the full life cycle of a project from design to commissioning.. This role will require collaboration across functional groups to resolve technical design issues, ensure quality installations, track and report cost/schedule metrics, and model safe work practices. This is a role that requires sound technical judgement and creative problem-solving skills to support all teams.
What You'll Do
- Complete constructability reviews
- Manage Request for Information (RFI) for both coordination and providing technical answers
- Execute purchases $100k and under and support purchase orders over $100k
- Complete and track value engineering efforts
- Standard and specification review and development
- Provide feedback on construction sequencing for your discipline
- Identify and provide a path of resolution to technical field issues as they arise in collaboration with engineering, applicable contractors, and other parties as required
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills are a must
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
- High proficiency in Microsoft products, Bluebeam, Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD
- Proficiency with the follow programs is a bonus: iConstruct, Ansys, Inventor, Compress, Aconex, CADWorx Plant Professional, Revit, and STAAD
- Proven ability to identify field issues and propose efficient solutions
- 3 years of relevant industry experience (heavy industrial, oil & gas, complex chemical plants)
- Previous experience on $200M projects, preferably with experience on both "owner" and "contractor" side
