As Tesla's Civil Project Manager, you will own up to $200M of greenfield civil construction - from raw earth to a finished industrial site ready to support ambitious manufacturing programs. You will lead roads, underground utilities, ground improvements, drainage, piling, and cut/fill earthworks operations across a blank-canvas site, laying the physical foundation for facilities that will redefine domestic materials production. What You'll Do
- Own all phases of greenfield civil construction up to $200M, including roads, underground utilities, and large-scale cut/fill earthworks from mobilization through final completion
- Drive earned value management across all civil scopes, maintaining rigorous cost and schedule performance tracking with variance analysis and proactive recovery planning
- Administer prime contracts and subcontracts, manage change orders with discipline, and protect Tesla's commercial interests at every stage of execution
- Develop competitive bid packages, lead technical evaluations, and drive contractor selection with a best-value mindset
- Collaborate with and foster a high-performing civil field team, with a focus on safety, accountability, and relentless urgency
- Coordinate civil scopes with engineering, project controls, procurement, and downstream trades to ensure seamless site readiness
- Communicate project status, risks, and critical path items clearly and efficiently to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
What You'll Bring
- 4 years of experience in heavy civil construction with demonstrated ownership of greenfield infrastructure projects
- Proven experience on projects $100M inclusive of major earthworks, roads, and underground utilities, managing both third party contractors and internal resources
- Expert-level understanding of earned value management, contract administration, and change management
- Civil engineering degree or equivalent experience required
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with confidence presenting to senior leadership
- High energy, self-driven, and relentlessly focused on schedule and cost performance, solving complex problems with creative and unconventional solutions
- Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with aggressive delivery goals
