What to Expect
The Fremont Launch Engineering team is seeking a Launch Engineer (TPM), Factory Integration to oversee installation and / or modification of manufacturing lines to support New Product Programs. While the engineers define solutions to technical challenges, the Launch Engineer (TPM) oversees business case, scope, timeline, budget, space layouts. They use this knowledge to identify gaps in technical scope to ensure that Programs are executed seamlessly alongside ongoing factory operations.
The Launch Engineer (TPM) will be the key liaison between teams (Design, Operations, Planning, Manufacturing, Facilities) and enable projects to be executed with operational risk and readiness in mind. The Launch Engineer (TPM) also has intimate knowledge of project interdependencies and can engage cross-functional teams as required. Technical engineering knowledge is crucial to be able to effectively define and manage project and operational KPIs, assess technical and commercial risk, and critically challenge engineering decisions made in a cross-functional setting.
What You’ll Do
Drive stakeholder integration across Factory, Global Manufacturing, and Support Functions to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment
Participate in or lead various Cross Functional Program and Manufacturing Readiness forums to provide clear updates on program status and recovery plans at both working and executive level
Identify top risks and develop mitigation strategies for the program, escalate when necessary
Integrate, build, monitor and control Program Cost and Schedules
Lead funding approval cycles by developing budgets and facilitating leadership approvals
Liaison with Planning, Engineering, Construction, Design, NPI and Manufacturing teams to execute onsite demolition, construction and line installation activities
Drive activities related to the planning perimeter of the program into the factory with the target to meet or exceed program milestones
Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to be a trusted integrator that removes roadblocks for teams to execute flawlessly
Build and optimize systems to improve interface management with various stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
5-10 years of Program / Project Management / Construction Management experience in a fast paced, highly fluid manufacturing environment
2-3 years of experience in financial analysis: Make vs. Buy, Business Case Development
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & schematics, plan sets and 3D renderings
Production Operations Knowledge: Firm understanding of how complex production lines are planned and how they operate: layout optimization, line balance, time studies, OEE, error proofing, etc.
Exceptional interpersonal skills dealing with all levels of an organization. Able to effectively and confidently communicate to senior and executive level leadership
Strong written & verbal communication skills; excellent organization skills
Proficiency with common workplace software (MS Office Suite, MS Project, Confluence, Jira)
Curiosity to learn and a passion to solve difficult high impact problems
Prior onsite execution, demolition and high-volume manufacturing experience is a plus

Expected Compensation
$124,000 - $216,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
