Machine Rebuild Technician

Tesker Manufacturing Corporation – Saukville, WI

Tesker Manufacturing Corporation is seeking an experienced Machine Rebuild Technician to perform rebuild and restoration work on our thread rolling machines.

Tesker thread rolling machines are built for long service lives, and many machines return to our facility for rebuilding after years of operation. Projects range from individual component repairs and partial rebuilds to complete machine restorations.

For a full rebuild, this position will take a machine through the complete process—from disassembly and inspection through cleaning, repair, and final reassembly. The ideal candidate is mechanically experienced, comfortable working independently, and enjoys taking equipment apart, understanding how it works, identifying what needs repair, and putting it back together correctly.

Experience specifically with thread rolling machines is not required. Candidates with backgrounds in industrial machinery, machine rebuilding, automotive rebuilding or restoration, heavy equipment, or other mechanical repair work may be a good fit.

This is a hands-on position with a wide variety of work. Rather than performing the same production operation every day, the technician will work on different machines, components, and rebuild projects based on customer needs.

For over 50 years, Tesker Manufacturing Corporation has designed and manufactured thread rolling machines, dies, and tooling. We specialize in high-quality equipment and tooling for customers throughout the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform complete and partial rebuilds of Tesker thread rolling machines and machine components.
  • Disassemble machines as required, including heads, plates, hydraulic components, electrical components, guarding, and other assemblies.
  • Inspect disassembled components for wear, damage, and areas requiring repair or replacement.
  • Clean and prepare machines and components using appropriate methods, including scraping, pressure washing, degreasing, and sandblasting.
  • Rebuild machine heads, hydraulic tanks, and related hydraulic components.
  • Perform basic manual machining, drilling, fitting, and repair work as needed during the rebuild process.
  • Determine when components require additional machining and coordinate those operations with other machinists in the facility.
  • Replace worn components, seals, bearings, hydraulic lines, hardware, and other parts as required.
  • Reassemble machine components and complete machines following rebuild work.
  • Maintain organization of components and hardware throughout disassembly and reassembly.
  • Work from drawings, manuals, existing assemblies, and knowledge of mechanical systems to complete rebuild projects.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience rebuilding, repairing, assembling, or restoring industrial machinery, automotive equipment, engines, heavy equipment, or similar mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Automotive rebuilding or restoration experience can translate well to this position. Candidates with strong mechanical rebuilding experience outside of industrial machinery are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience working with bearings, shafts, seals, hydraulic components, fasteners, and similar mechanical components.
  • Ability to methodically disassemble equipment, inspect components, keep parts organized, and accurately reassemble equipment.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, drills, grinders, and basic manual machining equipment.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems is a plus.
  • Basic machining and metalworking experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, prints, and related technical information is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to recognize worn or damaged components and determine when additional repair or machining may be needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to independently manage a rebuild project through multiple stages of disassembly, repair, and reassembly.
