Job Description:
A Material Planner at our Sparta plant will be responsible for managing and controlling production planning and scheduling for work-in-process and finished goods.
This includes establishing and monitoring inventory levels against forecasts, minimizing the company's investment in inventory, and scheduling material production and delivery to achieve customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Forecast and manage inventory turns to achieve targeted service levels.
- Work with the Supply Chain Buyer to ensure on-time material supply and product delivery.
- Utilize internal planning software and participate actively on the global team.
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term production planning to meet company requirements.
- Ensure customer delivery commitments for make-to-order products.
- Establish inventory stocking levels and system forecasts to support customer demand and inventory targets.
- Create production schedules to optimize requirements, reduce cycle times, and minimize inventories.
- Execute inventory deployment throughout tesa warehouses.
- Maintain master data integrity within SAP.
- Resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Analyze inventories for obsolescence and recommend solutions.
- Support new product launches.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with MRP reports, data entry, and interpretation of data, preferably in SAP.
- Proficiency in PC applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows, etc.).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
- Familiarity with 6S, ISO, and IATF requirements.
- Flexibility to work varying hours.
