Terwilliger Plaza is looking for a seasoned Director of Nursing RN to join our leadership team overseeing approximately 55 assisted living residents. The Director of Nursing Services reports directly to the Director of Assisted Living and is responsible for providing overall daily management of clinical services in the Assisted Living and Residential Care Facilities. The Director of Nursing is supported by a team of tenured LPNs and RNs. There are no delegations required as part of the duties of this role.

Key responsibilities include: 

• Direct and supervise the daily functions of clinical personnel (LPNs and RNs) and direct care staff (caregivers, medication aides/techs) in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the Assisted Living and Residential Care Facilities. Ensure that all nursing personnel and direct care staff comply with the written policies and procedures established by the community.
• Oversee the Member assessment process and the coordination of care plans for each Member. Review Member evaluations, service plans and interim service plans for accuracy. Ensure that personnel providing direct care to Members are providing such care in accordance with the Member’s service plan and wishes.
• Implement systems to timely assess and monitor Member health concerns, such as weight and nutrition, skin integrity, mobility, fall management, and challenging behaviors. Ensure clinical personnel are routinely monitoring and evaluating changes in Member condition, implementing effective interventions, and documenting accordingly.
• Monitor the alert charting system and regularly review Member Health Records for compliance and quality standards.
• Ensure staff are following safe and accurate medication management and treatment procedures, maintaining proper documentation and storage.
• Ensure Member care is provided in a safe and dignified manner, always upholding Member dignity, choice, and respect. 
• Attend Monthly Management Team meetings and join the on-call rotation. Expected to participate in the Manager on Duty program.
