We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking team member to join our Dining Services department. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and guests.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate a commercial dishwasher and ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing of all kitchenware, dishware, utensils, pots, and pans.
- Clean and sanitize kitchens, food preparation areas, dish rooms, storage areas, and some cooking and serving equipment according to state regulations and departmental procedures.
- Safely use and handle cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, detergents, and other hazardous materials in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), OSHA standards, and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, floors, drains, trash areas, and dining service areas.
- Transport food, supplies, equipment, and service items to various dining venues, resident areas, and other locations throughout the campus when needed.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, and storing deliveries following proper food safety and inventory procedures.
- Remove trash, recyclables, and compost materials from kitchen and service areas.
- Monitor cleaning and sanitation supply levels and notify management when replenishment is needed.
- Follow all food safety, infection control, and workplace safety procedures.
- Support dining service operations by assisting cooks, servers, and supervisors as needed.
- Participate in department meetings, in-service training, and safety training programs.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and team-oriented attitude when interacting with residents, guests, and staff members.
Required:
- Six months minimum on the job training, in-house or in similar facility
- Must be able to read and understand written caution labels
- Food handlers’ card
- Must pass background check and drug screening
Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of sanitation and food safety practices.
- Knowledge of safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Understanding of proper lifting techniques and workplace safety procedures.
Skills & Abilities:
- Active listening skills
- Shows skills in organization, appearance and demeanor; must be able to speak, read, write & understand English
- Handles high level of activity and multiple priorities in calm manner with common sense and independent action
- Considers cost of supplies when performing duties

- Maintains a calm, professional demeanor to others
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout an 8-hour shift
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements
- Flexibility to work occasional extended shifts or evening events
