Production Planner
Salary Range: $29.21/Hour - $38.34/Hour (Financial compensation packages may be higher/lower than listed, & will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand)
Own the decision of SKU-level Finish goods (FG) and Work-in-Process (WIP) production plan to balance demand, inventory targets, family-level capacity, and raw materials availability using exceptional analytical capabilities in tools and systems. Communicate and lead the alignment with cross-functional stakeholders in Manufacturing Operation, Operation Excellence, Engineering, Procurement, and Global Supply Chain Planning. Influence without authority to drive consensus on the plan. Execute the plan by creating and releasing work order in SAP to initiate the production process.
What You'll Be Doing
- Decide on daily/weekly SKU-level production output to meet weekly/monthly global demand and inventory targets as provided by the Global Supply Chain Planning group.
- Create and manage a SKU-level daily, weekly, and monthly production plan supported by family-level production capacity.
- Implement, maintain, and report key performance metrics, e.g., schedule adherence, Manufacturing Schedule Performance (MSP), etc. Analyze results and drive continual improvement efforts.
- Ensure any constraints are quickly identified and work with production and procurement partners to resolve issues. When issues cannot be mitigated, work closely with Global Supply Chain Planning to align on recovery plans and timelines to maintain the right expectations with overall business objectives. Escalate quickly and effectively when roadblocks cannot be resolved.
- Validate production run rates that optimize output and mix by product family or type that adhere to the capacity model.
- Validate with procurement that daily plan is supported from a raw materials perspective.
- Manage and develop a subassemblies plan that supports the FG needs.
- Communicate to manufacturing about changes on capacity or requirements for line and provide information in detail about the changes.
- Maintain SAP and IBP (Integrated Business Planning) systems and ensure systems are up to date with the corresponding plan and inventory.
- Perform all required tasks related to the supply planning process to support the timely execution of the S&OP process.
- Incorporate quantitative analysis, manufacturing expertise, qualitative inputs, and other relevant information from various business stakeholders to develop supply plans aligned with consensus demand.
- Support any new product launch ensuring execution is aligned with project timeline.
- Identify inventory risks, including excess and obsolescence for end-of-life products, and opportunities for closing financial plan gaps for various scenarios.
- Ensure complete alignment on the final build plan with stakeholders while driving adherence to the S&OP cycle calendar.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and actively contribute to ongoing planning process definition and improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience
- An effective written and verbal communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills and analytical approach towards problem solving in a matrix environment
- Comfortable and capable of presenting to management and senior executives
- Superior tech skills and expert in ERP usage and understanding
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a regulated industry, including medical device
- Working knowledge of planning tools such as SAP/IBP (Integrated Business Planning)
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, a persistent attention to detail, and a high level of comfort in working with numbers
