Supervisor, Global Logistics
Salary Range: $79,733 - $104,650 (Financial compensation packages may be higher/lower than listed, & will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand)
Responsible for leading global logistics operations, ensuring compliant, efficient, and cost-effective movement of goods across international and domestic networks. Act as a key partner to cross-functional teams, driving visibility, process optimization, and continuous improvement in import/export activities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and develop a team with varying levels of technical experience, driving the execution and continuous improvement of import and export processes, while ensuring full compliance with customs and regulatory requirements (e.g., shipment tracking, customs holds, FDA requests, freight forwarder special request, etc.)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics operations, maintaining effective communication with carriers, customs authorities and brokers, government agencies, suppliers, and warehouses.
- Establish, standardize, and enforce best practices for import/export operation processes, controls, and procedures.
- Lead continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives across logistics operations, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and issues clearly and proactively to stakeholders across the organization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align logistics priorities and execution like partner with Purchasing and Warehouse to prioritize inbound shipments, coordinate with raw material warehouse regarding claims, delivery issues, and other requests, work closely with finished goods third-party logistics (3PL) on the daily export activities and exceptions, and support Engineering and other department requests (e.g., equipment moves, material transfers to new sites, and other requests and projects).
- Ensure efficient, cost-effective logistics solutions across manufacturing sites and 3rd party processing facilities
- Develop, monitor, and report global logistics metrics
- Manage and evaluate freight logistics providers, including customs brokers
- Support the finance team on logistics budget and spend analysis (e.g., review freight invoices and rates, provide spend reports, etc.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in import/export and transportation with a distributor or manufacturer
- A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience
- Prior experience within a logistics or supply chain environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
