Role Description The CDL Class A Truck Driver role is a full-time, on-site position based in Olivia, MN. In this role, the driver will transport agricultural products such as feed, seed, grain, and bulk commodities, as well as commercial freight, using equipment including live bottom and hopper bottom, . Day-to-day responsibilities include safely operating trucks and trailers, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing and monitoring loads, and following all applicable DOT, company, and safety regulations. The driver will complete accurate logs and delivery documentation, coordinate with dispatch and customers on local and regional routes, and support flexible scheduling needs. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness of equipment, reporting maintenance issues promptly, and representing Tersteeg Transport Inc. professionally at all customer locations.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record and current DOT medical certification.
- Demonstrated skills in safe truck operation, trailer handling (live bottom, hopper bottom), and basic vehicle inspections.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and best practices for load securement and cargo safety.
- Strong time management, route planning, and reliability in meeting delivery schedules.
- Effective communication skills for working with dispatch, customers, and team members, including clear documentation and logs.
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job, such as climbing in and out of trucks, handling equipment, and working in varying weather conditions.
