Site Development Surveyor

We are seeking a detail-oriented Site Development Surveyor to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring accuracy in field layout and survey work for residential, commercial, and site development projects as a Survey Instrument Operator. The ideal candidate will be skilled in reading plans, setting base stations, and performing layout with precision to keep projects on track and within specifications. They will also need to have experience shooting and prorating elevations, performing as-built surveying, and uploading 3D models into compatible heavy equipment systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform site layout and staking for residential, commercial, and civil projects.
• Establish/verify control points, elevations, and grades using total stations, GPS, and other survey equipment.
• Interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure proper placement of structures and utilities.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and crews to ensure accurate layout for excavation, grading, pavement, and utility work.
• Maintain accurate field notes, records, and as-built documentation.
• Conduct quality checks to verify that construction work aligns with established control and design specifications.
• Adhere to safety standards and company procedures while working on active construction sites.

Qualifications

• 2 years of field layout or surveying experience in construction environments.
• Proficiency with surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and site plans.
• Knowledge of grading, alignment, and construction tolerances.
• Familiarity with Trimble survey software is required
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to work in varying site conditions.
