About us: We’re a specialty dental office in Pittsburgh exclusively serving children and special needs patients. In March, we moved into our state of the art pedo-ortho office. We collaborate with an orthodontist on site to provide continuity of care for our patients who need orthodontia. We’re a fully digitized office with the latest technology. In addition to our new digital panoramic x-ray and hand-held intraoral x-rays and digital sensors, we also have a Solea all-tissue laser which we use for needle-free hard-tissue restoration and soft-tissue procedures such as frenotomies. Responsibilities, General
- Demonstrate and influence a culture of good team work to deliver an extra ordinary experience for every patient
- Provide exceptional customer service by making the patient the # 1 priority
- Participate in daily huddles with other team members to ensure every day flows smoothly
- Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance
- Follow safety policies and procedures through OSHA compliance and federal regulations
Responsibilities, Clinical
- Prepare patients for their appointments and ensure their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
- Sterilize instruments according to protocol
- Assist clinicians through 4-handed dentistry
- Undertake lab tasks as needed
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Accurately record and document diagnosed treatment plans
- Draft dentist notes
- Advise the front desk staff on patient scheduling to optimize clinical time
- Manage clinical workflow so staff remains on schedule
- Ensure dental equipment remains serviceable and in good working order

- Proven experience as a dental assistant
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods

- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, primary computer systems (EagleSoft, MS Office, Weave, Gmail, OpenEdge-Xcharge)
