POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This individual will be responsible for managing and overseeing a variety of complex, shared services accounting functions, including general ledger management and multi-company accounting. This role requires a strong background in Sales and Use tax, Fuel Excise Tax and Underground Storage tax a detailed understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the general ledger and various sub-ledgers.
- Prepare and pay tax filings Sales and Use tax, Fuel Excise Tax and Underground Storage tax for multiple states.
- Perform monthly and year-end close processes, including all balance sheet reconciliation activities.
- Handle daily activities for multiple company accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes and improve financial reporting.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide recommendations to management.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary information and answering queries.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, tax regulations and current accounting standards.
- Support in maintaining financial controls and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a tax accounting role.
- Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong in Excel.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to analyze large volumes of complex financial information and provide accurate financial reports.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation, or working towards certification.
- Experience in implementing new accounting systems or processes.
- Experience in a multinational organization or in an industry relevant to our company.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
