This role ensures the accurate, timely, secure, and compliant production and delivery of court publications, forms, training materials, and official documents to federal judiciary locations and authorized recipients nationwide. The SME serves as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders, supporting program planning, vendor coordination, process improvement, and quality assurance while ensuring adherence to judiciary policies, security requirements, and federal printing standards.

What does a typical day look like for the U.S. Courts Printing & Distribution SME?
You Will
- Provide subject matter expertise and advisory support to designated AOUSC staff regarding USPS billing procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. This guidance shall enable AOUSC personnel to effectively assist Court Units in navigating postal service compliance, cost allocation, and operational standards within the Federal Judiciary framework.
- Provide training to designated AOUSC staff on the operational procedures, workflows, and systems utilized by the Printing and Distribution Branch. Training shall include hands-on instruction, process walkthroughs, and relevant documentation to ensure staff proficiency and continuity of operations.
- Conduct knowledge transfer activities by facilitating job shadowing sessions and engaging in collaborative task execution with designated Government personnel. These activities shall be structured to ensure effective skill development, process familiarization, and continuity of operations.
- Assist AOUSC personnel with routine printing and distribution tasks. This support shall include hands-on participation in operations to ensure continuity of service, workload sharing, and familiarity with established procedures and equipment.
- Submit concise written summaries detailing tasks performed, progress made, and any issues encountered on a weekly basis.
- Actively engage in printing and distribution operations alongside AOUSC personnel.
- Provide a comprehensive report summarizing all activities, outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for future improvements. Due within five (5) business days of engagement completion.
You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:
- The ability to work in the U.S. permanently without sponsorship.
- A minimum of (5) years of experience in a supervisor, lead, or manager role within the U.S. Courts Print and Distribution Branch.
- Demonstrated experience as a Subject Matter Expert in large-scale printing, publishing, and distribution operations.
- Knowledge of federal printing, publishing, and distribution practices, preferably supporting judiciary or other federal agencies.
- Experience managing or advising on nationwide logistics, warehousing, and fulfillment operations.
- Strong understanding of quality control, inventory management, and performance metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief senior government stakeholders.
- Familiarity with GPO requirements, federal accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508), and secure document handling.
- Background supporting government contracts or professional services environments.
