LEGAL ASSISTANT POSITION
We are seeking to hire a full-time, thoughtful, and energetic legal assistant who can start as soon as possible. This is a client-facing position with a high amount of phone communication and administrative work. If preferred, you will have the opportunity to transition to a paralegal, marketing specialist, or operations specialist role within a couple of years.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer phone and speak with both potential clients and existing clients.
- Greet potential and existing clients in the office and take payments.
- Communicate with potential and existing clients by email.
- Open new cases and close completed cases.
- Handle scanning immigration packets and mailing to USCIS.
- Complete data entry for cases along with reports for case management.
- Compile supporting evidence for immigration applications.
- Draft cover letters and correspond directly with USCIS and the U.S. State Department.
- Follow up with USCIS and the U.S. State Department regarding delays and issues.
- Assist attorneys with preparing immigration forms.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fluent Spanish speaker.
- Commitment to serving under-served communities
- Ability to relate to and communicate with a broad range of clients and colleagues
- Values working cooperatively with others, both within the firm and in the community
- Strong analytical and strategic problem solving skills with extreme attention to detail.
- Superb interpersonal skills and track record of getting along well with colleagues and clients.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
