Operations Manager - Landscape Design & Build

With a passion for high-end design, lasting craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction, we take pride in delivering exceptional landscape solutions.  As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are currently seeking a talented and experienced Landscape Operations Manager to join our team.

Position Overview:

As the Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in our company's success by accurately assessing project costs, preparing bids, and collaborating with the project management and design team.  You will lead new initiatives to track division performance, profitability and efficiency.  You will report directly to the Head of the Design & Build division.  Your attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and in-depth knowledge of landscape construction will contribute to the seamless execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Head of the division to ensure internal initiatives and demands in the office are balanced with the need for the Head of the division to be in the field.
• Collaborate with the construction managers, landscape architects/designers, and subcontractors to understand project scope and goals and scheduling requirements.
• Build upon the team culture by organizing and leading meetings to implement new processes and procedures and track operational metrics.    
• Analyze project requirements and specifications to determine accurate material, labor, and equipment costs for residential landscape construction projects.
• Support the development of  competitive bids and streamline and improve materials ordering processes.  Research and recommend cost-saving measures, alternative materials, and construction methods without compromising quality.  
• Provide ongoing support and collaborate with the team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review projects to evaluate actual costs, identify areas for improvement, and refine operations..  

Requirements:

• Proven experience either in field or in operations for Landscape Design/Build for 5 years or more.
• In-depth and in-field knowledge of residential landscape construction materials, building methods, and techniques.
• Strong proficiency in construction estimating software and tools is a plus. (Experience in LMN estimating software is desirable as this is our main software tool).
• Able to efficiently review landscape plans and details, accurately quantity takeoffs and material calculations during the estimating process.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, details, specifications, and project documents.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Degree or certification in construction management, landscape construction, or a related field (preferred but not necessary).
