Vineyard Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Vineyard Technician to join our winery operations team. This position is responsible for supporting all aspects of vineyard production, including vine care, seasonal maintenance, and harvest activities. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, values teamwork, and is committed to producing high-quality grapes that contribute to exceptional wines.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform seasonal vineyard tasks include pruning, shoot thinning, leaf removal, and canopy management.
• Assist with planting, trellising, and training new vines.
• Monitor vine health and report signs of pests, diseases, or irrigation issues.
• Support irrigation system maintenance and repairs as directed.
• Operate and maintain hand tools and basic vineyard equipment safely.
• Assist with mowing, weed control, and general vineyard grounds maintenance.
• Participate in grape harvest activities, including fruit sampling, picking, transporting grapes and harvest clean-up.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Work collaboratively with vineyard and winery staff to achieve production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous vineyard, agricultural, landscaping, or outdoor labor experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing for long periods.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license is preferred.

Work Schedule

• Part-time (24hr/week) schedule with flexible hours based on weekly weather and seasonal vineyard needs.
• Additional hours may be available during busy seasons (Harvest & Pruning)
• Weekend or early morning work may be required during peak production periods.

Physical Requirements
