The Terralogic Document Systems (TDS) Business Development Representative role is predominantly outside sales. In this role, you will be:

  • Assigned a territory that is exclusively yours to work. Austin/Houston-based BDR: you will cover a multi-county area around the Austin or Houston metro region and extend into surrounding territories as business needs require. Territory may be added or reassigned to maximize BDR productivity.
  • Selling document scanning/digitization, document management software, scanning hardware, and electronic forms solutions for the government and other public & private sector entities.
  • Expected to be out on the road visiting prospects and clients at their offices approximately 14 days per month. Efficient territory coverage will require 5-8 overnights per month to access the more distant counties & municipalities.
  • Cold- and warm-calling self-generated and pre-existing leads at city and county government offices, courts, schools, districts, healthcare, and others. Website-generated leads will be provided to you when received by TDS.

For all contact with prospects and current customers, you will seek opportunities to discuss:

  • Records scanning and digitization projects with the goal of securing appointments to complete Document Surveys (described below).
  • Document Management software solutions—this could include anything from basic on-premise search-and-retrieve packages to full-featured platforms including forms creation, workflow management, advanced indexing, cloud storage with on- or off-site access, etc.
  • Hardware Scanner solutions – including Desktop and Enterprise scanners, Large Format scanners, and Microfilm/Microfiche scanners to compliment our full-serve scanning and software solutions.
  • Electronic form solutions to complement the clients’ desire to go digital with their records.

SURVEYING DOCUMENTS

The process of surveying records for scanning will consist of:

  • Measuring paper records in a variety of sizes and conditions. Everything from postcard-size to large-format 36”x48” prints. Records will be stored in boxes, file cabinets, and movable storage rack systems. Large-format prints will be in rolls or in large flat drawer cabinets.
  • Measuring microfilm rolls and microfiche cards stored in boxes, cabinets, racks, or other.
  • Using your measurements to calculate an estimate of total images to be scanned.
  • Compiling your measurements into an Excel spreadsheet, which you will send to the home office.
  • The office will prepare a formal proposal, sent back to you, for you to present and review with your prospect.
