Terrain is seeking an experienced Irrigation Team Lead to oversee daily irrigation field operations and lead crews to deliver consistent, high-quality work for residential and commercial clients.
Position Overview
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily irrigation field operations, including system installation, repair, and maintenance. The Irrigation Team Lead works directly in the field alongside the crew while managing schedules, safety, quality control, and performance to meet Terrain standards.
This role is ideal for a leader who takes ownership of results, leads by example, and thrives in an active outdoor environment. Flexibility is required during peak seasons, including early mornings, extended hours, and all-weather conditions.
Primary Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited To:
- Lead daily irrigation installation, repair, and maintenance operations
- Supervise, train, and mentor irrigation field crews on safety, quality, and productivity
- Build, adjust, and manage daily and weekly schedules to meet job timelines
- Inspect irrigation systems and troubleshoot installation, repair, or performance issues
- Provide technical leadership on system installations, start-ups, repairs, and winterization
- Ensure irrigation systems align with design intent and water management best practices
- Enforce safety protocols, SOPs, and quality standards
- Track crew performance, job quality, and operational metrics
- Communicate professionally with clients to set expectations and resolve issues
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in irrigation, landscape field operations, or related trades
- Proven experience leading or supervising field crews
- Strong working knowledge of irrigation system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Ability to plan schedules, problem-solve in the field, and adapt to changing priorities
- Clear, professional communication skills with both crews and clients
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and accountability
- Comfortable using scheduling software or operational tools
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with irrigation system components including sprinklers, valves, pumps, controllers, drip systems, poly pipe, and PVC
- Understanding of water efficiency, irrigation best practices, and system optimization
- Familiarity with local or regional water-use regulations
- Experience coordinating multiple crews or job sites
