Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manager or Senior Manager of Project Development to oversee the development of renewable energy projects, with a focus on wind repowering, redevelopment, and co-located battery storage. This role leads all aspects of the day-to-day development process including technical diligence, land work, supporting the interconnection process, securing discretionary local, state and federal permits, negotiating tax abatements and similar economic incentive agreements, supporting equipment selection and contracting, and project modeling activities. The ideal candidate will bring relevant experience in renewable energy project development, will be comfortable interfacing with members of the public and community stakeholder groups, officials, regulators, and internal stakeholders. Project markets are expected to include PJM, MISO, ERCOT, and ISO-NE.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and “own” multiple development projects, with direct responsibility for project level development plans, budgets and schedules
- Make recommendations regarding sequencing of development activities across stage gates, and consistently track risks and mitigants
- Partner with the Engineering team in managing third-party environmental and engineering consultants
- Spearhead discretionary permitting including land use and zoning approvals (e.g., Conditional Use Permits, Special Use Permits), as well as applicable state or federal approvals as may be necessary
- Negotiate PILOTs or similar tax abatement agreements with local or county officials
- Collaborate with the Project Delivery team to ensure seamless transition of projects from development to construction
- Maintain a strong understanding of the regulatory and policy environments in project markets
- Support due diligence processes for project acquisition opportunities
- Provide regular project reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines
- 5-7 years of experience in renewable energy, with demonstrated experience in development workstreams
- Strong understanding of electricity markets, power contracting, and renewable energy policy and regulatory matters
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with presentation software (e.g. MS PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Airtable, Procore, SiteTracker).
- Ability to travel as required, expected 10 - 25%
Compensation: $155,000 - $180,000 USD, bonus eligible

Salary : $155,000 - $180,000
