Essential Roles And Responsibilities
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining Terracon’s established quality standards on all projects.
- Entry-level scientific professional responsible for gathering data and performing field inspections.
- Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection either alone or with a team.
- Perform testing and sampling of ecological systems in the Midwest including riparian areas and grasslands.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of data from sampling, reports, maps, drawings, and aerial photographs to evaluate, plan and permit projects.
- Prepare concise and accurate written reports using data collected in the field.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with staff and clients regarding specific projects/tasks.
- Completion of some projects will require travel and working outside of standard office hours and days.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Biology, Geography, Geology or related natural science field and a minimum 1 years of related field experience.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- At least 1 year of field experience with wetland delineations, stream assessments, habitat and species assessments.
- Preparation of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527-21
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Beginner or Intermediate GIS
