Job Description
General Responsibilities:- Conduct Phase I ESAs in accordance with ASTM 1527-13 with minimal oversight;
- Conduct Phase II ESA’s in accordance with ASTM 1903-11 with minimal oversight. Tasks to include soil boring advancement; monitoring well installation; soil classification; subcontractor oversight; and soil, sediment, groundwater, and air sampling;
- Develop conceptual site models based on review of all data generated during a Phase II ESA;
- Assist in preparing scopes of work for both routine and more complex site investigations to measure and sample physical and non-physical properties of soil from a hydrogeological, geological, or environmental standpoint;
- Under general supervision conduct and document remediation and vapor mitigation systems OM&M;
- Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by assisting field staff in sampling testing, and collecting data and documenting on-site activities;
- Subcontractor oversight of the installation and construction of vapor mitigation systems;
- Conduct site visits, field observations and field data collection and/or field assignments;
- Office duties include data reduction and evaluation, technical analysis, groundwater modeling, and report preparation with minimal guidance from senior staff;
- Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes; and,
- May have limited client contact pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in geological engineering, geology, hydrogeology or related discipline;
- Geologist in Training (GIT) certifications preferred;
- Minimum 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in conducting Phase I and Phase II ESAs;
- Groundwater modeling experience (e.g., MODFLOW and/or AQTESOLV™) preferred, however not required;
- Working knowledge of CDPHE, CDLE-OPS, CERCLA, RCRA, or other applicable state or federal regulations;
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen and have an acceptable driving record;
- High level of verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong organizational skills; and,
- Completed OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and have current 8-hour refresher certificate
- Certification in field of expertise.
