Key Responsibilities & Experience Opportunities
- You'll play a hands-on role delivering impactful environmental services by performing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews. Your work will span important regulatory programs, including:
Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act
Section 404 Permitting
Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA)
- Conduct desktop research of readily available resources toevaluateproject sites for the presence of natural and/or cultural resources and potential environmental issues and compliance with state,localand federal regulations.
- Consult withother technical professionals andsupervisoron routine and complex projects.
- Performsite visits, fieldobservationsand field data collection; analyzing data and reporting results.
- Manage permit applications and technical document reviews, including proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence.
- Conduct field investigations, including soil, groundwater and vapor sampling
- Analyze environmental data and interpret results
- Research historical and regulatory records
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and key stakeholders
Follow safety rules,guidelinesand standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Be responsible formaintainingTerracon's establishedquality standards on all projects.
- Prepare clear, concise technical reports that translate complex environmental concepts into actionable insights for clients
- Performs other office, laboratory or field studies and duties that may be assigned bymore senior level professional staff or theDepartment and/or RegionalManager.
This position offers a great balance of fieldwork and office-based analysis, allowing you to build a well-rounded consulting skillset.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, Natural Resources Management, Biology, or related natural science field.
- Two years of experience is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
