Concrete Finisher

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. This position will support underground utility projects by performing concrete installation, finishing, repair, and restoration work associated with utility construction and right-of-way projects.

The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, understands proper concrete finishing techniques, and can work effectively as part of a field construction crew.

Essential Responsibilities

• Finish and smooth freshly poured concrete using hand and power tools.
• Set, assemble, and maintain concrete forms according to project requirements.
• Ensure proper grade, depth, pitch, alignment, and finish of concrete installations.
• Perform concrete restoration associated with underground utility construction and right-of-way work.
• Patch, repair, and restore existing concrete surfaces as needed.
• Apply curing compounds, sealers, and other surface treatments as required.
• Prepare surfaces and work areas prior to concrete placement.
• Assist with concrete placement, spreading, screeding, edging, and finishing.
• Read and follow construction plans, drawings, specifications, and jobsite instructions.
• Maintain proper drainage, slopes, elevations, and finished grades.
• Inspect finished work to ensure it meets company and project quality standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and jobsite procedures.
• Work closely with Foremen, Superintendents, laborers, and other crew members to complete projects safely and on schedule.
• Perform other construction-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Previous experience in concrete finishing or related construction work.
• Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to follow construction plans, specifications, and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Commitment to following safe work practices.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Preferred

• Experience with concrete restoration or repair.
• Experience working on utility, civil, roadway, or right-of-way construction projects.
• Experience with sidewalks, driveways, curbs, gutters, pads, streets, or other concrete restoration.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Experience operating concrete finishing equipment and power tools.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding construction position. Candidates must be able to:

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and work in various positions for extended periods.
• Frequently use hands and arms to operate tools and equipment.
• Lift, carry, and move construction materials and equipment.
• Work outdoors in heat, cold, dust, and other changing weather conditions.
• Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Work safely around construction equipment, vehicles, and active jobsites.
