Banquet Lead (Part-Time with Full-Time Potential)
Location: Terra Blanca Winery & Estate Vineyard – Red Mountain, Benton City, WA
Position Summary
Terra Blanca Winery & Estate Vineyard is seeking an organized, hospitality-driven Banquet Lead to oversee the successful execution of private and winery-hosted events. This position serves as the Manager on Duty for all private events, ensuring every event is executed seamlessly while delivering exceptional guest experiences that reflect the Terra Blanca brand.
The Banquet Lead works closely with clients from the final planning stages through event completion, coordinating with the culinary team, event staff, and management to ensure every detail is executed to the highest standard.
This position begins as part-time, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role as our events program continues to expand.
Essential Responsibilities Event Management
- Serve as the Manager on Duty for all private and internal events.
- Lead event setup, execution, and breakdown while ensuring high standards of service andpresentation.
- Oversee banquet and event staff, assigning responsibilities and providing directionthroughout each event.
- Coordinate with the culinary team to ensure timely food service and seamlesscommunication between front and back of house.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during events while maintaining a positiveguest experience.
- Ensure events remain on schedule and all contracted details are fulfilled.
Client Relations
- Attend client "pass-off" meetings alongside the Director of Sales & Marketing to become acquainted with each client and assume responsibility for ongoing event communication.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients leading up to their event.
- Answer client questions, provide updates, and confirm event details.
- Build strong relationships with clients while providing outstanding customer service.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Prepare and maintain Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for all assigned events.
- Develop event timelines and floor plans.
- Ensure all departments have accurate and updated event information.
Administrative Duties
- Work one scheduled office day each week (initially) with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Review newly booked events and updates to existing events.
- Maintain organized event files and documentation.
- Assist with event planning processes and operational improvements.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in banquet management, event coordination, hospitality management, or restaurant leadership preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Professional appearance and customer-focused attitude.
- Experience creating Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), event timelines, or floor plans ispreferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer software.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving tables, chairs, andbanquet equipment.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Schedule
This position begins as a part-time role with a variable schedule based on Terra Blanca's event calendar.
The Banquet Lead can expect:
- One office day per week to meet with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Variable event shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Additional hours during peak wedding, holiday, and event seasons.There is significant opportunity for increased hours and advancement into a full-time position as the winery's private events program continues to grow.
