About the Role

The Security Concierge plays an important role in creating a safe, welcoming, and efficient experience for every customer who visits Terpene Journey.

This position combines security awareness with hospitality and customer service. You will work as part of the retail team while maintaining a security-focused perspective, helping customers feel comfortable and ensuring that store policies and regulatory requirements are followed.

The ideal candidate understands that security does not have to feel intimidating. A warm greeting, careful attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential to success in this role.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time position with the following regular schedule:

• Wednesday: 11:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 11:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m.
• Sunday: 11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Candidates must be available to work all three scheduled days consistently on a long-term basis.

Key Responsibilities

As a Terpene Journey Security Concierge, you will:

• Greet every customer enthusiastically, politely, and with a smile.
• Open the door for customers as they enter and exit the store, viewing this as an important part of delivering an outstanding guest experience.
• Carefully and consistently verify the identification of every person entering the premises.
• Help maintain a safe and efficient shopping experience through customer-flow and queue management.
• Monitor the parking lot and conduct regular perimeter checks.
• Maintain awareness of activity inside and immediately outside the dispensary.
• Identify potential safety or security concerns and respond calmly and professionally.
• Use appropriate de-escalation techniques when challenging situations arise.
• Support the receipt and intake of deliveries.
• Assist with inventory delivery, intake, and audit activities as needed.
• Follow all regulatory requirements, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with the retail team to support the dispensary’s daily operations.

Duties and responsibilities may change based on the operational needs of the company.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:

• At least one year of security experience.
• At least one year of customer-service experience.
• The ability to remain calm and de-escalate difficult or uncomfortable situations.
• A genuine desire to serve and assist customers.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A proactive, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
• The ability to use computers and smartphones comfortably.
• The ability to take direction and respond appropriately to changing operational needs.
• A commitment to arriving on time and reliably working the established schedule.

Cannabis-industry experience is not required.

Working Conditions

The Security Concierge is primarily stationed inside the dispensary. However, identification must be checked before customers enter, which requires frequently stepping outside and returning indoors throughout the shift.

Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors for short periods in cold, hot, rainy, or otherwise unpleasant weather. The position does not require remaining outside continuously, but frequent movement between indoor and outdoor conditions is an essential part of the role.
