What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pest Control Technician position at Termite Terry Pest Control?
We are looking for an experienced technician to help us out with a busy pest control route. Before I get into all the details about this position, let me tell you a little about what is going on here. We've got a pest control company that has been in business for 21 years, and our focus has always been on offering services that are superior to what is commonly found in the market place. We are not the "low priced" guys who only spend ten minutes at a house. We only do thorough and detailed work.
The reason for this ad is because one of our pest control techs just left to join the Navy. We are going to be very picky on who we hire because we’ve got more work than we can handle, and we need someone who really knows what they are doing.
Here's what you must be able to do in order to be considered for a tech position. You must have a current Branch 2 field rep license and have a minimum of two-years experience. If you also have a Branch 3 field rep license, that could mean even higher income opportunities for you. A good record of previous employment is required (no job hoppers!). You must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license. Must be fluent in English, write legibly, read a map, add numbers, be small enough to fit into a crawl space, lift 20 lbs., enjoy working with clients, measure fluids, have a nice smile, be bondable, submit to random and scheduled drug tests.
The right person will have experience dealing with rodent control, bee control, bed bugs, gopher control, and numerous other pest problems. You will be expected to sell these jobs, perform these services, and to continue building up the route.
Regular attendance is critical. Some Saturday work will be required.
This position will be paid on an hourly basis, and you should expect to work at least 20-30 hours a week. A lot of this will depend on your experience, and your work performance. In other words, the more you know and can do, the more hours you’ll be working, and the more money you’ll make.
If you feel you can do all that, and frankly I don't think I am asking for much, then I am going to ask you to send us your resume, and a letter that tells us why you are the best candidate for the job.
Thank you for taking the time to read this important message that could end up being the chance to obtain your "dream job".
ps: Please remember that the right person must be experienced, and well versed in various pest control treatment measures. The economy is improving and with our marketing program, we're going to have another record-breaking year, with or without you. And, if you're really good at your job, you'll become one of the highest paid technicians in the industry.
