Position Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our collaborative, fast-paced team for the summer. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting the development and improvement of mechanical systems used in utility-scale solar construction. You will work alongside experienced engineers on real projects—contributing to design, prototyping, and field validation efforts, including work on mobile equipment and associated mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Location & Duration
• Onsite role in Woodland/Davis, CA
• 10–12 week summer internship (flexible start/end dates)
Responsibilities
• Support the design and prototyping of mechanical systems and components for mobile equipment (e.g., agricultural or powersports), including hydraulics
• Assist in creating and updating 3D CAD models and 2D drawings
• Help build and test prototypes, including hands-on work in lab or field environments
• Participate in basic engineering analyses, calculations, and structured test activities
• Document designs, test results, and observations clearly and concisely
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional team members to iterate on designs and solve problems
Minimum Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework (or equivalent)
• Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
• Strong interest in hands-on engineering and mechanical systems
Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to mobile equipment such as agricultural, construction, or powersports vehicles
• Basic understanding of hydraulic systems
• Experience with prototyping, fabrication, or shop tools
• Familiarity with GD&T or engineering drawings
