JOB SUMMARY: Tepeyac Community Health Center is seeking a Communications Intern to support our growing Development and Communications team. This role is ideal for a college student or recent graduate interested in nonprofit communications and marketing. The intern will gain hands-on experience across digital platforms while helping expand access to accessible, high-quality care for communities across Metro Denver.

PAY: This is an unpaid internship with our Development and Communications team.

SCHEDULE & LOCATION:

  • This role can be predominantly remote or in-office, depending on intern preference. There is an expectation for the intern to come into the office at least once per month and to establish regular working hours. 
  • Up to 8 hours per week.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Current college student or recent graduate, preferably in communications, marketing, journalism, public health, or a related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Interest in nonprofit work, healthcare, or community-based organizations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Squarespace
  • Experience with Canva or other design tools
  • Spanish language proficiency, particularly for translation support

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support website management, including updating event listings, provider pages, and general content
  • Assist with blog writing and storytelling
  • Draft and schedule social media content across platforms
  • Update internal communications materials, including TV slides and digital displays
  • Provide support for marketing collateral such as flyers, one-pagers, and event materials
  • Assist with email marketing, including drafting and formatting newsletters and campaigns

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend required internal meetings, trainings, and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Gain practical experience managing a nonprofit website and content systems
  • Build a portfolio of writing, social media, and marketing materials
  • Learn best practices in healthcare communications and community-centered storytelling
  • Receive mentorship and training from Tepeyac’s Development and Communications team

Interns, students, and volunteers are also subject to the same vaccination requirements as employees.
