Turnaround Cost Analyst
The TAR Cost Analyst will work as part of the turnaround cost group to provide support for current and upcoming outages and non-routine maintenance.
The TAR Cost Analyst is expected to have a general understanding, and 3 years minimum related experience, of incurred cost and general ledger accounting. He/she must be able to present confidently in meetings, possess basic Microsoft Office skills, including fundamentals and proficiency in Excel, and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and vendors. The Turnaround Cost Analyst may be asked to support other efforts within the Turnaround or Non-Routine Maintenance cost teams.
Turnaround Cost Analyst Opportunity Specifics
- Full-time on-site, Baytown, TX area
- Target Start: January 2026
- Duration: Anticipated to be long-term, at least 1 year

Responsibilities/Duties
Planning Phase
· Vendor quote review and validation
· Update and maintain PO log
· Setup vendors in system
· Issue requisitions
· Verify master service agreements
· Request and validate staffing plans
Execution Phase
· Compile DFR Report
· Maintain accurate employee rosters and badge numbers system
· Collect and validate per diem documentation and maintain per diem log
· Track daily labor and per diem costs
· Track daily equipment costs
· Track daily material and shopwork costs
· Perform weekly reconciliations with vendors
· Monitor incurred costs vs. PO value and advise as needed
· Enter PO change order requisitions
· Monitor burn rates to support forecast
· Monitor burn rates to support forecast
· Question lead planner of any delta between estimate breakdown and vendor reporting
· Participate in pre-forecast PM meeting Validate and approve invoices
· Validate and compare data between systems
Post Turnaround Phase
· Continue any processes outlined above for vendors performing work during post-TAR phase
· Confirm final costs with vendors
· Close purchase orders
Ongoing Efforts
· Develop and document process improvements
· Act as the point of contact for assigned vendors
· Assist coworkers as needed
· Participate in daily/weekly cost meetings
· Develop familiarity with turnaround cost tool
· Assist with ad hoc requests
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in cost tracking/project controls cost within oil & gas, petrochemical, and/or turnaround environments.
- Understanding and knowledge of turnaround lifecycle and cost control principles.
- Experience with SAP and other Cost tracking/reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with internal teams and external contractors.
- Ability to work full-time ON-SITE and OT hours as needed/required.
Pay: $42.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
