Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Plasma Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and programming CNC plasma cutting equipment, ensuring precise fabrication of sheet metal and other materials. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and quality inspection to produce high-quality components efficiently. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting machines according to specifications and blueprints
- Program CNC laser cutting, milling machines, lathe, and other fabrication equipment as needed
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate fabrication
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CNC equipment to maintain optimal performance
- Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions
- Adjust tooling and machine parameters to optimize cut quality and production efficiency
- Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, press brake machines, stamping presses, cranes, and forklifts as required for material handling and fabrication tasks
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards and procedures
- Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and fabrication projects
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC plasma cutters or similar CNC machinery such as laser cutting, milling machines, or lathes
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and quality inspection techniques
- Experience with tooling setup, calibration, and troubleshooting CNC equipment
- Ability to operate hand tools, cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in machining tasks
- Prior experience working with sheet metal fabrication or electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus
- Knowledge of welding processes and assembly is advantageous but not mandatory
