The Director of Philanthropy leads Tennyson Center for Children’s fundraising and development efforts. This position reports to the Chief Development & Marketing Officer, works closely with the Director of Development Operations & Manager of Marketing & Communications to ensure the department exceeds revenue and growth goals, supervises the Events Manager, Community Engagement Coordinator and contract grant manager. This position has a range of responsibilities, including individual and corporate donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, special events, grants, and annual appeal implementation and success.

Essential Job Functions

  • Cultivates, solicits and stewards a donor portfolio of at least 150 individual and corporate prospects
  • Increases revenue by identifying, prospecting and acquiring new donors
  • Supervises the Events Manager and Community Engagement Coordinator to secure and steward corporate event sponsorships, volunteers and community partnerships
  • Works closely with the Manager of Marketing & Communications to plan and execute the annual appeal campaign and strategy 
  • In conjunction with the team, promotes events, peer-to-peer fundraising, monthly giving, 3rd party fundraisers and planned giving
  • Supports grant research through identifying new corporate and national grant opportunities

Physical Requirements

  • Minimal physical requirements, on occasion lifting up to 30 pounds as needed.  
  • Setting up and breaking down materials or collateral information at special events may be required. 

Working Conditions

  • Position may be remote up to 20% of the time.
  • General office environment.
  • May require driving to and from local or state-wide events as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 5 years of successfully inspiring and leading a fundraising team that raises more than $5M per year with 5 to 7-figure gifts from corporations, individuals, events, grants, family foundations/donor advised funds and estate gifts.
  • Knowledge of or proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Raiser’s Edge and other CRM software.
  • Valid CO driver licensure

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
